Product Description

The General Electric I/O Expansion Board DS200IOEAG1A features five 26-pin connectors and a pair of 40-pin connectors. The GE I/O Expansion Board DS200IOEAG1A also is populated with 3 PROM connectors identified as C6, C7, and C8. The PROM modules on the GE I/O Expansion Board DS200IOEAG1A store the drive parameters which control the behavior of the drive while in use. When you replace the board you can avoid reconfiguring the drive by simply moving the PROM modules from the defective board to the replacement board. However, there are several considerations to keep in mind. The PROMs are particularly sensitive to static electricity, which can, for example, corrupt the files contained on the PROM modules.

To prevent that from happening, you must follow some guidelines. When you are prepared to replace the board you must employ the use of a wrist strap and have one end attached to a metal surface. The allows the static from building up on the board by providing a means for the static to drain to the grounded metal object. Before you remove the defective board have a static protective bag flattened out on a work surface and place the board on it.  Keep the replacement board in the sealed bag in which you received it. Then, open it and remove the new board. Hold it only by the side edges to keep from being warped or causing components to break off. Place it next to the defective board on the protective bag.
